Now What do you have to say??

Posted on: February 8, 2008 9:17 pm

The Giants upset the Patriots to win the Superbowl! Now what do you have to say? For weeks I have had to listen to this nonsense on various sports shows and morning radio shows about how the Giants did not stand a chance. Premature talks of books entitled "19-0 The Undefeated Season" and plans for a Superbowl Championship parade here in Boston already being put into effect. All the time I kept thinking... but they haven't won yet??!!! Everyone had pretty much handed the Lombardi trophy over to the Great Pats. I was incredulous. It isnt like I was 100% positive that my Giants were going to pull the upset off. It was more that I was surprised by the lack of respect everyone had for the Giants. We came into the playoffs and knocked off the 3 top seeded teams on the road. That itself is a great feat. Yet we still got no respect. Everyone already pronounced the Great Pats the Victors! I felt like I was living in an altered reality from everyone else. The game I watched in which the Patriots beat the Chargers was anything but impressive. The Patriots won... yes. But they did not play very good. They beat a Ladanian Tomlinsonless Chargers team with an injured Rivers and Gates.... And they just narrowly pulled that off. Immediately after that game I turned to my boyfriend (diehard Pats fan) and said "The Patriots better get their $H*% together. If they show up to play the Giants like they did vs the Chargers they are going to get beat." He shrugged unconcerned with a smirk playing on his face. That seems to have been the same response all Bostonians had to the thought that the Patriots could be beat... and by the Giants at that. They completely scoffed at the idea. Well reality came crashing down last night....along with their beloved Tom Brady as he was sacked and knocked down numerous times by the suffocating Giants Defense. At the end of the game reality hit.... The Giants beat the Patriots... ruining their undefeated season and securing the Superbowl Championship! So my question to you Pats fans is... "Now what do you have to say??"

Now What do you have to say??

It's sad when a team makes it all the way to the superbowl, and they are still an underdog.  obviously they are doing pretty good if they made it that far.  oh well....the patriots got what was headed for them.  And now there is a petition online for the NFL to review the game because he said the NFL threw it, to keep the patriots down.  Some fans just can't accept the patriots were completely outplayed by the giants.

Now What do you have to say??

Well, I think I have to say Congratulations.

Shocked the hell out of me, and cost me $10, but it was a fun game to watch and a great excuse to drink 30 beers.

So the glass was more than half full.
